Target gene experiment description: To further evaluate the physiological function of Sirt5 eRNA, we tested the lysine de_x0002_glutarylase activity of SIRT5 upon knockdown of its associated eRNA. We found that carbamoyl phosphate synthase1 (CPS1), a specific substrate of SIRT5, was glutary_x0002_lated upon depletion of Sirt5 eRNA, leading to an overall diminishment in CPS1 activity. Overall, these results suggest that eRNAs are important sensors of the meta_x0002_bolic state.
