Moreover, expression levels of p53 and activation of p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and NF-κB were significantly increased in the ALA+RT group compared to the control. The expression levels of IL-6, IL-8, and Cxcl1 (the senescence-associated cytokine and chemokines were measured by qPCR to additionally examine the effect of ALA on cellular senescence in irradiated cells. Increased levels of the corresponding mRNAs were observed in the ALA+RT group compared to all groups. |
