Intriguingly, compared to the uninfected controls (lane ?1), HIV-infected cells (lane 2) exhibited a slight decrease in total ATM but an increase in ?pATM, likely reflecting HIV-induced DDR. In parallel, levels of total CHK2 and AKT ?proteins were decreased, but levels of pCHK2 and pAKT were significantly increased by ?HIV infection, along with elevation of the DDR-mediated apoptotic markers H2AX and ?PARP1. |
