The experiment to assess morphological changes associated with UDCA treatment led to the observation that UDCA induces flat and spread out morphology similar to that described for the senescent cells.The staining for senescence marker βOur results show a significant suppression of telomerase activity by UDCA-galac-tosidase revealed intense β-galactosidase staining pattern in UDCA treated HCT116 (UDCA_P3) cells, when compared with untreated HCT116 cells, suggesting that UDCA induces senescence in HCT116 cells. |
