The percentage of SA-β-gal positive cells was significantly lower in HCECs treated with SB203580 than in control cells (25.2% and 64.9% [passage 3],25.5% and 71.3% [passage 4], and 35.2% and 63.1% [passage 5], respectively). Western blotting analysis demonstrated that the expression of p16 and p21 was reduced in the cells cultured with SB203580, whereas HCECs expressed high levels of p16 and p21 in the absence of SB203580. |
