We observed a decrease in p53 in soluble protein fractions of 10%-CSE treated cells that is indicative of a reduction in DNA damage recognition and repair. Abrogation of Sirt1 was observed in the soluble protein fractions prepared from Beas2b cells upon exposure to 10% CSE in comparison to air-exposed cells; the loss of Sirt1 is indicative of cell cycle arrest and cellular senescence. |
