| Description: | The growth rate of senescent cells was very low in the absence of SB203580.?However, in the presence of SB203580, a significant increase in growth rate was observed. More than 80% of both SB203580- treated and untreated young cells were labelled with BrdU. In contrast, only 18% of the SB203580-untreated senescent cells were BrdU-positive. SB203580 treatment also resulted in a dramatic decrease in the number of SA-β-gal-positive senescent cells and a morphological change from a flat cytoplasm to a spindleshaped one with a refractile appearance. |
