| Description: | CGGBP1 depletion by CGGBP1 siRNA resulted in DNA damage as demonstrated by an increase in the number of γH2AX foci as compared with control siRNA-treated 1064Sk cells.Proliferation assays starting at 3 wk after first passage posttransfection and stable selection showed strongly reduced cell proliferation in S164A cells .The slow dividing S164A cells acquired the morphology of senescent fibroblasts and a very strong increase in β-galactosidase positivity. Cell cycle analysis showed an accumulation of cells in S-and G2/M-phases in S164A cells, suggesting a block or slow passage through these phases of cell cycle. |
