| Description: | Induction of the cell cycle inhibitor p21CIP1 was observed following knockdown of p63 expression by RNAi in primary human keratinocytes and was associated with an increase in G1-phase cells and a marked decrease in S phase.Little or no evidence of cell death was observed in primary human keratinocytes following lentiviral p63 knockdown. Instead, morphologic features of cellular senescence were observed in a subset of cells, and these changes correlated with staining for SA-β-gal. |
