| Cell name: | IMR-90 |
| Experiment: | SA-β-gal activity assay |
| Description: | The number of cells expressing SA-β-gal was dramatically increased after treatment with the TAK1 inhibitor relative to the number in the control cells. |
| Target gene: | P53 |
| Official symbol(s): | P53 |
| R-AG-Target gene: | -- |
| Subcategory: | Unclear |
| Target gene experiment: | Western blot |
| Target gene description: | p53 expression in RPE cells under oxidative stress was strongly affected by pretreatment of the cells with the TAK1 inhibitor, seen by the inhibition of p38 phosphorylation . In control cells (without such pretreatment) the expression of p53 gradually increased, reaching a peak after 60 minutes, whereas in the pretreated cells, p53 expression peaked after 10 minutes and then declined.Over a longer period, TAK1 inhibition reduced p53 expression to a level slightly higher than in control cells. |
